Some wedding days feel like a performance. Not this one.
In 2020, Emily and Tanner rolled up to a West Virginia stoplight next to each other, smiled through their windows, and waved hello. Emily went home, stalked Tinder until she found the guy in the car with the Iowa license plate, and they met up at a bar that very night. A few years of long distance later, Emily moved to Iowa. And now, those strangers at the red light are married. Funny how life works, isn't it.
Emily and Tanner did everything right on their wedding day. From the moment they saw each other that morning, they rarely left each other's side. I don't think there was anywhere else either of them wanted to be.
At one point, I overheard Emily talking with her bridesmaids in the bathroom. She said, "I've dreamed about this day for so long, and now that we're here, it's better than I could have imagined. It's like we're living in a dream."
It was my honor to document their wedding, their families' roaring rendition of "Take Me Home, Country Roads," their cousins starting a huge conga line, their first kiss, and every little thing in between. I wish them all the joy and love in the world. Congrats to the Heiars!
